Trouble at Absolute Poker
by Elizabeth Nguyen, News Staff Writer
October 31, 2007
Online Casino Suite’s news center covered the story last
week about the Absolute Poker online casino falling prey
to an insider who rigged games against paying customers
of the online gambling site. The company traitor, who
remains unidentified, managed to make off with millions
of the internet casino’s money, by manipulating their
knowledge of the site’s internal mechanisms to their
advantage. It was grievous news for Absolute, which has
long enjoyed a positive reputation among online casinos
and their players for excellence. The company now faces
repaying all the mistreated members who lost money to
the scam – but the week has brought more bad news for
Absolute Poker.
Publicity Guaranteed, a public relations firm hired by
Absolute, is now alleging that the online casino as
failed to pay its bills. Publicity Guaranteed was hired
by the internet casino to generate advertising, and to
drum up new business. Other online casinos have hired P.R. firms to great advantage, and it seems that
Absolute had similar intentions. Now, however, Publicity
Guaranteed is taking revenge on the online gambling firm
in the most damaging way possible – by airing its dirty
laundry to all the ‘net.
The Virginia-based P.R. company contacted a slew of
local media outlets to trumpet the news that the Costa
Rican online casino poker company was in debt to them
for over forty-three thousand dollars. To make matters
worse, the company is also making sure to “rub in” the
details of the internet casino’s cheating scandal. A rep
from Publicity Guaranteed virtuously told press that the
company felt it was their duty to warn other potential
contacts of Absolute of the firm’s poor credit. Clearly,
hell hath no fury like an ad agency scorned!
